Disabled access

Our buildings and services are fully accessible to disabled members of the public.

The High Commission is keen to ensure that our buildings and services are fully accessible to disabled members of the public. Where we can adapt our premises for disabled visitors we do our best to make necessary changes where this is possible. We try to find alternative means of giving disabled people equal access to our services. To assist disabled visitors, we have set out below details of disabled access at the High Commission. We hope this information is helpful.

General Physical Access

  • Grounds: no steps & suitable for wheelchairs although the entrance is on a relatively steep slope.
  • Steps: there are several steps in front of the Visa/Consular Section and main reception.
  • Toilet: there is a toilet for use by visitors on the ground floor but no wheel chair access.
  • Parking: there is no parking for visitors inside the High Commission compound.
  • Emergency/Evacuation: in the unlikely event that the High Commission needs to be evacuated, arrangements will be made to assist disabled visitors.
  • The High Commissioner's residence is accessible to wheelchair users

Visually Impaired / Hard of Hearing Visitors

  • Guide Dogs: are welcome
  • Hearing Dogs: are welcome
  • Microphones: these are installed in Visa/Consular Section
