Chevening Scholarship Programme
The Chevening Scholarship in Cameroon
The Chevening Scholarship is a programme funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, which is jointly administered in Cameroon by the British High Commission and the British Council. It allows outstanding young professionals in Cameroon, to study in the UK for up to one year.
There are three types of Chevening scholarships:
Type A: Covers tuition fees only
Type B: Full scholarships for tuition fees, monthly stipend and one-off allowances
Type C: These vary, and can cover part/full stipend, and /or allowances
The awards are for studies in a range of disciplines, but preference is given to candidates who are likely to contribute to the promotion of human rights and good governance when they return to their countries.
The closing date for applications is end of November for periods of study starting in April of the following year, while shortlist and final selection take place in January.
Applicants must:

be an early or mid-career professional from the public or private sector

be able to demonstrate how a course of study in the UK will have a positive impact in Cameroon on your return

have a good knowledge of English

hold a first degree in any discipline

have the potential to become a leader, decision-maker or opinion-former in your profession
