The Challenge Fund aims to support innovative, small-scale high-impact projects from the grassroots under the themes of democracy, human rights and climate change.

Individual awards vary but are typically in the region of CFA 5-10 million. Awards are generally made bi-annually. A summary of previous projects is available here.

Bidding for the 2009/10 Challenge Fund has closed. If funds become available a second bidding round may be held in Summer 2009.

Applicants may send speculative bids at any time. Please note that these will not be acknowledged.
Proposals must be made using the standard bidding form below and sent to bhc.yaounde@fco.gov.uk.

The High Commission aims to achieve high levels of transparency in the administration of the Challenge Fund. Details are contained in the guidelines which applicants should read before completing the form. Bids that do not follow the guidelines will be rejected.
